Caramel Frappuccino

I've been making Frappuccino's for years - trying out different methods and different ingredients each time. It was only until recently that I have come up with the best-tasting version.

Ingredients:
3/4 cup espresso
1 cup milk
2-3 tbsp. granulated sugar
2 cups ice cubes
Caramel syrup (to taste)

Garnish: (optional)
Light whipped cream
Caramel syrup

Instructions:
Make espresso and chill.

Combine chilled espresso, milk, caramel syrup, and sugar in a blender. Blend until sugar is dissolved. Add ice and blend until ice is crushed and the drink is smooth.

Serve with plenty of whipped cream and caramel syrup drizzled on top.

NOTE:
For a chocolate version, replace caramel syrup with 1/3 cup Hershey's chocolate syrup. Garnish with a drizzle of additional chocolate syrup.

Makes 2-3 servings.

This recipe is so close to Starbuck's, it is unreal. I used ground Millstone caramel truffle coffee (from Walmart) and Splenda for my sugar. I still added a touch of Smuckers's caramel sundae syrup to the blender and, of course, on top of the whip cream as suggested. I love it!!

I can't wait to try this, sounds so good. I spend a lot of money at Starbucks, so if i can save some money it would be great.

I would seriously try to avoid the Smuckers syrup. It contains corn syrup (as does Starbucks blends) which is terrible for the body and the FDA just announced it contains mercury. I think it should be outlawed. Sorry for the ranting. Stick to sugar... and even better a natural form of sugar like cane sugar or maple or honey or fructose etc, etc...
