Ingredients:
For the Cake:
Mix together these dry ingredients:
2 cups plain all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
Boil these ingredients together:
2 sticks (226 grams/8 oz./1 cup/16 Tbsp.) margarine
4 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla extract
For the Icing:
Boil together:
1 stick (113 grams/4 oz./1/2 cup/8 Tbsp.) margarine
4 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
6 Tbsp. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 lb. (4 cups/16 oz./454 grams) confectioners' sugar
Peanut Butter Mixture:
1 1/2 cups peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
1 1/2 Tbsp. cooking oil
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 C). Grease and flour well, a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
For the Cake:
Pour boilled mixture over dry ingredients. Mix well with spoon. Pour batter into prepared baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees F (180 C). Cool cake completely in pan before topping with peanut butter mixture.
For the Peanut Butter Mixture:
Mix together the peanut butter and cooking oil; spread over top of cake:
For the Icing:
After boiling all icing ingredients together, mix well and spread on cake.
