Servings: 12 cinnamon rolls

Comments:
I made these cinnamon rolls today and my husband had one with his "afternoon" cup of coffee. He said they were great, and said "it didn't take you very long for you to make these, why"?
"Just a little secret using Bisquick Mix."...........Diana

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 1/2 cups Bisquick mix
2/3 cup milk
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup raisins (optional)
Glaze (see recipe below)

Instructions:
1. Heat oven to 375ºF (190ºC). Grease bottom and sides of rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches. Stir together 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon; reserve.

2. Stir bisquick mix, milk and 2 tablespoons sugar until dough forms. If dough is too sticky, gradually mix in enough bisquick (up to 1/4 cup) to make dough easy to handle. Turn dough onto surface well dusted with bisquick; gently roll in bisquick to coat. Shape into ball; knead 10 times. Roll into rectangle, 15x9 inches; spread with butter. Sprinkle evenly with sugar mixture; sprinkle evenly with raisins. Roll up tightly, beginning at 15-inch side. Seal well by pinching edge of dough into roll. Cut into 1 1/4-inch slices; place cut sides down in pan.

3. Bake 23 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes; remove from pan. Spread Glaze over warm rolls.

Glaze
1 1/3 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk

Stir together powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract until smooth.

Variations:
Replace raisins with dried sweetened cranberries or blueberries for a twist on these classic breakfast rolls.

Makes 12 cinnamon rolls.

I haven't actually made these, but I was wondering if you could substitute something for the Bisquick mix?

I made these before. It was easy but we didnt like the recipe because they tasted more like bisquits then they did cinn. rolls, i am guessing because of the bisquick.

Memories from my childhood in the 60's. My Greek mother didn't know how to bake cinnamon rolls but she learned about bisquick from her friends and would make them for me every Saturday morning. I made them for my own girls before I perfected my cinna rolls.

I had to make dry yeast cinnamon rolls for a cooking class, but this was so much easier! And no one could tell the difference!

They taste like cinnamon bisquits and sugar. I'd much rather spend a little extra time using yeast and flour.

I haven't made these babies yet, but they look AMAZING! Just one question: Do you think it will work if i substitute a GFCF pancake mix for the Bisquick?

I just made these with the pancake mix. Because it is GFCF it was much harder to work with than i imagine the Bisquick would be; i ended up having to roll the dough into 2 horn shapes to cook and cutting into slices to serve. But... it tastes great!

These were very good but I put about two inches of cream cheese in the icing and I cut the rolls with dental floss. Much cleaner rolls.

I used a store brand pancake mix and instead of sprinkling the white sugar in it I used some light brown sugar, white sugar and cinnamon in the middle. They turned out great and they did not taste like biscuits or pancakes.

These were pretty good. Just one suggestion - when placing the rolls onto a pan make sure they are fairly close together so they touch when they cook, if not, the texture is more biscuit than dough, but all in all . . . pretty good.

Ths recipe is great. I made it tonight and made some with some extra cinnamon and some cinnamon sprinkles I had from Pampered Chef.I love the texture because it is more biscuity than cakey which is exactly what I was looking for.

It took longer than I thought to put together, but that could be my disorganized self. I love how few ingredients were necessary and how few dishes I had to use! A little too well; will try 20 minutes next time.

These were not good at all. I am a good cook and was hopeful that it would be quick cinnamon rolls that might be better than the Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls you buy in the roll. These were horrid and I was embarrassed to have my family even try them. Yuck.

The recipe was super easy. However, I used krusteez instead of bisquick and I think it made a huge difference. The rolls were only edible right out of the oven and were hard but tasted good.. then they became lethal weapons after cooling and had to be thrown out. They were like rocks.. I will try it again using only bisquick.

After reading the reviews about pancakes tasting like biscuits I decided to replace mix with Aunt Jamaima's pancake mix (the one needing eggs and milk), I added one egg to the recipe which made the dough very soft and elastic. I followed the rest of recipe, they turned amazing and my husband loved them!
