Fruit & Cream Filled Puff Pastry Shells

Comments: These little goodies make wonderful appetizers for a cocktail or dinner party, or why not serve them at an afternoon tea. Very quick and easy, especially when you need something sweet to serve and you haven't got a lot of time to make something. Your guests will devour these scrumptious treats. |
Ingredients: 1 package Puff Pastry Shells or 1 package Mini Puff Pastry Shells Creamy Orange Filling (see recipe below) 1 (21 ounce) can cherry or blueberry pie filling (or use a combination of different fruit pie fillings) Confectioners' sugar or whipped cream, for garnish |
Instructions: Bake pastry shells according to package directions. Use a fork to remove center of tops and soft pastry underneath. Cool. Divide Creamy Orange Filling among pastry shells. Spoon pie filling over Creamy Orange Filling. Dust with confectioners' sugar or top each with a dollop of whipped cream. Serve immediately. Makes 6 regular size or 24 mini puff pastry shells. Creamy Orange Filling Ingredients: 5 oz. cream cheese, softened 2 tbsp. granulated sugar 3/4 tsp. grated orange rind 2 tsp. orange juice 1/4 cup whipping cream Instructions: Beat together all ingredients except whipping cream. Whip the whipping cream, fold-in. Makes about 1 cup filling. |
